The fact that she assumed it was Nell, wasn't scared at all, and thought Nell was scared points to her power working normally. They made a strong point of pointing out they were holding hands. Even after learning about it I thought about that scene but dismissed it (maybe they just thought it was a scary scene). At the time we didn't know about Theo's power. She assumes its Nell and turns around to find no one in bed. Specifically, the scene where Theo is laying in bed, and a hand reaches around her and grabs her. Nell haunting herself opens new possibilities for an earlier scene. Luke ALSO has the most contact with Abigail, who is definitely her own person. My guess is thats because its a face we know (probably Luke's). However, every appearance of him after the hallway scene he is both no longer floating and facing away from Luke. The prime one being Cane Man, who it seems is his own character.
However, the only other two ghosts besides Bent Neck that we've seen doing some real haunting are both directed at Luke. It will be interesting to see if this plays out the same with the other siblings. One of if not the best episode so far! Lots of stuff has been talked about and the episode has been praised already, so I'll point out some things I thought about that haven't been mentioned (or mentioned in the same detail). Just one thing that wasn't piled on to Nellie's final moments of horror. Also, I was glad to see that it wasn't Nellie who directly caused Arthur's death. In love with this show and hope it can maintain its pace.Īt this point, I'm still wondering what's going on with Theo and Shirley's husband. I just watched The Strangers today, and this stood in stark contrast to that in this regard. There isn't much in horror that makes me care so much for the characters and relate to their stories like this. The tragedy mixed with fear is top notch horror for me. She was happy with Arthur (fantastic writing on their relationship), and then happy right before the very end. All I wanted for this poor girl was to be happy. The actress did an amazing job as Nellie. Even so, watching the slow march towards Nellie's death made for a harrowing episode.Įach episode so far has done a masterful job of telling each siblings' story and how we got to Nellie's death. Who else guessed that the Bent Neck Lady was Nell all along? The comment from the mom about the bodies hanging from the top of the stairs was the tip off for me.
